I got up earlier than I usually do (especially on the weekend) to see an oooooold show that I’ve recently found. It starred Dom DeLuise, and started in 1973 and ran just 22 episodes in 1 season. This morning’s episode featured a new girlfriend who wouldn’t marry without living together first.
The episode revolved around the struggle that Stanley (the main character) had with that decision, even before his mother expressed her disdain for the idea. He ended up with a baby step toward yes, but the definitive no came very quickly. The part that made me really smile was that several characters mentioned several (at least 5) times that it was 1973, and times were indeed changing.
I realized that I was only 8 years old when this one first aired. That’s what TV was like when I was a kid.
